Ayurvedic Back Massage

Ayurveda is an ancient traditional system of health and well-being originating in the foothills of the Himalayas.  It is founded on the principle of preventing disorders in the long term rather than waiting for problems to manifest themselves.

Ayurveda offers useful insights into psychological and behavioural characteristics and the importance of balancing these characteristics with regards to health and well-being.  During an Ayurvedic treatment, a consultation is carried out to determine the client's body and personality type, known as their dosha.  The aim of Ayurveda is to bring the client's dosha as nearly as possible into balance - the more balanced it is, the healthier a person is.

'Marma' or energy points on the back, neck, shoulders and arms relate to different organs and systems of the body.  Therefore by working these points, the client's whole body is left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

This treatment is specifically tailored to each client depending on their dosha and as a result, specialist warmed Ayurvedic oils and massage techniques are selected to suit the client's own, individual constitution.

Ayurvedic Back Massage is a wonderful treatment that can be used to alleviate a variety of conditions including:

- back pain

- neck stiffness

- sciatica

- muscle tension

- frozen shoulder

- all stress-related conditions
